what's the name of the smaller hotel accross the street from the Costan Azul?

That would be the Chapala Hotel. George's Motel to the south on Mar de Cortez is much newer and nicer. Rates are about the same.

I also would say it's the "El Capitan". Have stayed there for years, used to have an auto parts store below therestaurant.

THe El Cap is also across the street to the south. Clean comfortable rooms but much older than Jorges.

There is a newer and smaller hotel above and behind the market just north of the El Capitan. I think they also have a cafe downstairs. Sorry I can't remember the name.

Don Jesus I think you are speaking of Deveau. Yes, a resturant just outside the Motel. I have not been there just recently but last few times I was they had good food & sevice too!

and yes, it was the cap i was thinking of. i got it quicker tho at Carlos Fiesta site.

be aware, the sewage treatment plant is a 1/2 block from these hotels and restraunts. can be a little stinky.
