Tijuana border crossing

Hello all,
I am heading down to San Lucas Cove this coming Friday and I was wondering if anyone can give me the current situation at the Tijuana border crossing and toll road to Ensenada. I hear that the crossing at Tecate is much more easier to cross (I am contemplating on taking this route this time). Thanks.

I crossed at Tijuana yesterday morning at 6:00 a.m. There was no traffic and the red and green lights were not on. One lane was open and it was the honor system for those who wanted to declare. I did not stop and was through Ensenada headed south by 7:30. At Guerroro Negro at around 3:00 p.m. there was nobody manning the border. Between TJ and Loreto there were 4 or 5 military checkpoints. At some I was asked where was my destination, at some I was waved on through. Never was the covered bed of my pick-up checked.
