Lodging in Loreto?Gonna be down that way the first of March. Flying in, looking for a place with reasonable rates near everything. Plan to
get a rental and visit Mulege also. Any advice from fellow nomads will be
appreciated.

Although La Quinta takes dogs, I believe that you have to park on the street right on the Malecon.
El Moro takes dogs and has a fenced-in lot but I have no information on how to get in touch.
Cococabana will take dogs but they may also be booked.
The Brenda takes dogs and you can park inside the courtyard in front of your room.
Cypress
There are some nice reasonable places right downtown, actually some are even cheap but I have drawn a blank on the names...help him, someone from

Really had problems finding a vacancy in Loreto for Feb 13th! Ended up booking at
Quita San Francisco. When I asked her about the street parking she said that the
night "police"( watchman, I suspect), has prevented any problems. I hope that is so.
Will post a report when they get back to Todos.

Cypress, your best choice sounds like Iguana Inn-- maybe if you inquire immediately you'll get lucky.
We haven't stayed in a motel in Loreto for three years because we live here now
and our visitors stay with us.
Places we used to stay (our dog didn't travel with us):
1. Iguana Inn-- our favorite-- but often all booked up.
2. Plaza Loreto-- overlooks the main drag (Calle Hidalgo, not the Malecon). Reasonable rates, nice rooms for the price. Security man at door watches
over guest cars parked on street all night.
3. Posada San Martin next door to the Iguana. Cheap! Room 7 was good, and 3(I think) was OK. Other rooms are really spare, but clean. It was always
interesting and fun meeting the other guests on the central patio-- lots of backpackers and bicyclists and people traveling Baja by bus. Many
Europeans stay there. Street parking.
Places we are familiar with but haven't stayed in:
1. Cabanas de Loreto. Owners are very nice people, the hotel is beautiful and very relaxed. Rates are a little more than some other hotels, but look
like good vaue for what they offer. Enclosed parking possible.
2. Coco Cabanas. Nice people, great reputation. Parking, my guess is enclosed.
3. Junipero. Across the street from Plaza Loreto, low rates, well broken in, rooms face the street on second story with a wide, pleasant balcony.
Street parking.
4. Motel Brenda. Not much to look at and a little out of the way, but I've heard it is a decent low end motel. Courtyard parking.
5. Motel Salvatierra. Similar to Motel Brenda, but I haven't heard mention of anyone who has stayed there. Courtyard Parking.
Phone # for El Moro from 2004 phone book is 613-135-0542. Good location, looks nice.
Marie-Rose, I just don't know much about La Quinta, and I wish I could be more helpful to you. If you want an enjoyable place you might look at
cabanas de loreto, I think they have a web-site. If you just need a place to sleep passing through maybe Motel Brenda?
Edit: oops, I see I'm a little too slow in my post. I've heard nothing negative about La Quinta, and I'll be inerested to see your report. Have a
nice trip!

Gail Wright is the owner of Quinta San Franciscoi
Wonderful Lady. She will make coffee for you in the morning and ask her about the parking. She has special parking in the back. Gail is a friend of
ours that we met by staying there about 6 or more years ago. Actually Julie was closed and she sent us there. We love it because it is right on the
malecon and across from the marina. Yes she takes dogs. You'll love her 20 something pound cat Paul Newman. He's great. Enjoy your stay . Tell her
Keri and Mike sent you. Have fun,k

We stayed at the Quinta and were pleasantly surprised with the cost vs location. Saturady nights can, however, be noisy with the cruising cars
circling the malecon!

Acuity, Boy isn't that the truth , but
we get a kick out of watching all the people go by. Just turn your ac on and you won't hear the cars. We still love it,k

The motel El Dorado is often overlooked because it's a 100 yards off the main street. It is very clean and modern. I don't know about the dogs, and
you will have to ask them about the parking security. It's one block off Ave. Miguel Hidalgo near the La Palapa restaurant. They have a web site: www.moteleldorado.com.
You can also go to www. tripadvisor.com and search on Loreto, Mexico for trip reports on the various hotels.

I stayed at the OASIS in Loreto, was nice, saw people having dogs with them, parking inside the area, watchmen there all night too, quiet by night,
great breakfast buffet. And not too expensive! Look up their website - they have Familypackages available! www.hoteloasis.com
