The toll road IS the scenic road

Just back from Bahia and Guerro Negro and I made a big boo-boo in TJ. Been about two years since my last trip and after crossing the border I saw new (to me) signs for the "scenic road" to Ensenada. Well I wanted the toll road and I KNEW the scenic road could not be what I wanted. OOOPPPPS. For all you newbies, or infrequent visitors like me, the "Scenic road" is the toll road, and definitely the best way thru TJ if you are headed south.

Every road in Tijuana leads to Rosarito, eventually. Four guys in one truck, our driver drove Baja in 1978, the co-pilot started his trips in 1973, Randy used to work in Tijuana and I was the FNG. Thanksgiving 2006 we missed the turn to the toll road. Every intersection had a sign to Rosarito. Actually every intersection had four signs to Rosarito, pointing in four different directions. Until we got to the roundabouts, they had 87 exits, all leading to Rosarito and you can't get to any of 'em. Absolutely wonderful trip.

Another clue is the toll road is Mex. 1-D... the free road is Mex. 1.

yep yep yep!!!
the scenic road is definantly the best...just don't expect to see anything if you are driving at 6 in the morning...been there done that...fog all the way hehe oh well...one can only wish for awsome days of cloudless sky and sun on your heads...hehe

try not to give the guys at the toll booth's big bill's it leaves them without change...hint hint...lol

ps...keep your eyes on the road ppl don't get carried away with the view...i know it's hard though...
