Baja on my wall

OK,

For all of us unfortunates who do not live in Baja, what images of Baja do you have on your wall?

Me, I have a poster purchased at the Museo in BLA...

A classic five foot tall Mike McMahan Baja wall map is above my fireplace and four Baja satellite image posters (www.satprints.com) also on my living room walls (San Felipe, Puertecitos, Bahia San Luis Gonzaga, Bahia de los Angeles). In addition the painting from Choral Pepper and one from Hugo Lopez of El Rosario.

Yup, when you walk into my home there is no doubt that I have 'Baja fever'!!!

In my home office...

An original autographed 1986 Esperanza poster map of Baja Califorina Sur by Hope Bartmess (Doeling). A gift from Barbara Williams whose photographic credits can be found on her fathers Baja guidebook. A neat lady, a nice gift. I inspected a house she was selling a couple of years ago.

Well, ... and at least ten photographs of my casita in San Nicolas.

I've got this wall map in the same room as my computer. While browsing Baja Nomad, I sometimes need to walk up to it to remind me where a place is. But, since it's in my view, I also like to stop and look at it sometimes, wishing I was there.

It's size is 17" wide x 75" tall. It's got a nice coated finish. I purchased it at a small shop in Ensenada. I think it was about $10 USD.

Amo,

I've got the same map (circa 2001) that I probably bought at the same shop in Ensenada (a bookstore on Av Lopez Mateos).

well...the McMahon classic is in my office. The orig baja space poster (purchased in cabo 1981 1st trip south in my plane) in a fam room, several various misc prints, air guides and posters all over elsewhere, including 16th century Spanish maps for baja navigation and products promo posters featuring baja.
The orig grande mapa gigante de baja sold by yours truly (6' x 7') approx
on a bedroom wall.
And soon to be delivered (still working out the colors motif) is a 57" X 34" stained glass repro going into a single pane Fr Dr at my home.

i love baja geographical art, been collecting it 25 years now and can't get enough!

that great map !

Doug, Michael ~ or anyone in the know....

I would really love to have one of those great (large) maps to nurse me through this N. Idaho winter....

Would a fellow nomad who is able to, be willing to pick one up for me and send it to me... (available at the shop in Ensenada~ a bookstore on Av Lopez Mateos possibly other places??). Happy to pay for it and return a favor, of course!

OR.... if someone knows another source...??

My next trip to Baja will be after / by way of S. Korea... quite the detour, eh...?

Thanks Amigos
David / aka djh

Mike's has one that is many times bigger! It will cover an entire wall...

The Mike McMahan wall map is available from Map World online(www.mapworld.com) or their San Diego store: Map Centre
