Fastest Route

From greater Los Angeles to Zihuatanejo (Ixtapa) on the mainland:

1. Faster to drive down through Arizona or
2. Drive down Baja and take the La Paz Ferry and to Mazatlan?

Opinons or been there and done that reports appreciated. Tim

IMHO

If fast is your goal then I would say that the direct driving route would be preferrable.

The ferry can break down or slow down or stop completely because of weather, maintenance or.......??????

Let us know how it goes.

Good points on the ferry. I have taken it prior and now that you have jogged my memory, I recall that I had a 2 day delay for maintenance.

Has anyone ever made this entire trip? Furthest south I have driven is about 60 miles south of Mazatlan.
