wiring money, who's done it?
has anyone actually wired money from a bank in california to a bank in baja? would both parties need to have an account at each end? i need to get
some money to ensenada fast and can't make the drive right now as i am working FULL time, but only for 4 more months. : ) : ) : )

Wiring money to Baja
We have wired money from our US Bank branch in Oregon to Bancomer branches in both La Paz and Loreto. This was for the purchase of two properties, and
was upwards of 100K. No problems on either transaction.
Yes, the transactions went directly from our account to the sellers. Our bank charged us $50 each time.

Bank of America offers some sort of service -- don't recall the details but it might be on their website.

I have payroll wired
from US to bancomer, No problems. You can also send western union. There is one in ensenada in El Sauzal maybe others I just happen to know that one
and western union wires to the banks at electra stores. Good luck.k

Easy. 50 bucks. Just make sure you dot the eyes and cross the tees. Actually BofA does not charge a wire fee. Called "safe send" and will wire to any
bank in Mexico with a guarantee your money won't get lost

i do often....way too often. works like a champ...both the sending and recieving banks charge a fee....$40-50 us

for small amounts western onion is the way to go. 15 dollars for up to 300. They don't need an account at the other end, they just need to be able
to answer your security question. You pick the branch and it will go directly to it.

If there is an HSBC(formerly BITAL) branch in Mexico where you are and whoever you are wiring money to has an account there you can wire the money to
the Mexican branch through HSBC United States and only pay a regular domestic wire fee. With my bank I think it is $15. If you plan to do this a lot
this could save you some pesoties.

I transferred money US to Baja last year, no problema. This year something got screwed up, didn't lose money, but a big pain in the burrito:moon: as I'm leaving for 3 months down there in 2 weeks.
