How's the fishin' at Isla San Ildefonso???

I read the Mulege tournament thread, but didn't get much of a report. Are the Yellows feeding on the surface yet? Any other news about "catching" in Bahia San Nicolas?

I'm heading down next week for a quickie!

Maybe check the Loreto reports, if the wind is manageable. I think Blue Water Tours/Alfredo's might still run that fish camp up by San Bruno but I dont know what time of year it's running.

Not an expert but I think you might be a month off from the surface bite. Check w/ Pam as they keep a close watch on the development of the eggs to predict the surface bite in Loreto for the fly fishers and while all schools are somewhat separate, it might give you a good hint on the schools at San Bruno.

Thanks Santiago, I sent her a u2u. I need to get some e-dresses for San Sebastian. The whole doggone place is a wireless hot spot! I could ask those guys.

Well, Corky...fourteen days con ida y vuelta. Driving with a buddy this time so we can team drive in Baja, and even drive longer because of no screaming in the dark in the shotgun seat.

Life is uncertain, I've chosen to eat dessert first.;)

Hey PJ, I don't know about a wrong name. There isn't much fishing *AT* San Nicolas. And, I figured with the frequency of boats coming up from Loreto to the island that I might get a better report. The San Nic and San Sebastian roads are the only ones that serve the Bahia.

Now, I'm confused about where that gringo fish camp is. But one thing I know, they target Pulpito and Ildefonso, when they can get there. That was the reason for the recommendation.

Hook, are you talking about San Sebastian? There are only one or two Mexican families there. Lots of fancy houses.
Cathy and I are in San Nicolas I'm sure you know. Gringos, I hope, are still a minority. Were you confused about where it was located? I'm confused.:?:

WE haven't really been going all the way up there. too much wind too few fish to make the trip worth it. We're fishing deep at San Bruno and Puerto Almejas now. I expect a surface bite in April.

Thanks Pam...We aren't about to change our plans. We'll go and "vamos a ver".

The primary reason for leaving is illustrated below.
