Quick question.....it's been decades since I've been in this area, and to explore it adequately, we used to bring in gobs of gas gans. Is that still
the case, or can you get gas on the coast? Back then, Catavina was "fairly reliable"...with that out, how reliable is the LA Bay junction, or Punta
Prieta? Do they have cans in Rosallilita? Going down to Jesus Maria seems too out of the way, even with figuring in a dozen tamales!
It's just going to be my son and I from the 7th to the 12th. Maybe we get lucky, eh?

I think there is "allways" gas at the BOLA junction...from cans...the guy said he is there 24 hours a day when I asked last time....

Suggestion:
Bring some empty cans into Baja and fill them up at your first gas stop, then you won't worry about the availability of fuel while traveling further
south. If you don't need them while traveling, pour them in heading home.
Haven't had a bad trip yet....

Best place for your fill up is El Rosario... 225 miles from the border, honest pumps, a Baja Nomad member owner.

David K beat me to the punch! Last time I was there, I filled up two cans and the truck at El Rosario. Then I took the road from Catavina to the
coast and camped at Punta Blanco. As I recall, the distance from Catavina to Pta. Blanco was about 75 miles. If you gas up at El Rosario and carry a
couple of cans, you should be fine. And hopefully you have a vehicle that gets better milage than my '89 F-250 V-8!

Oh yeah... I once drove the same truck from Gonzaga Bay to Punta San Andres then north all the way up the coast to Pta. Blanco and out to Catavina.
Don't think I would have made it to El Roasario on that trip, even with the two extra cans that I had put in. Stopped and got a few gallons at
Catavina and then went north.
