The note does'nt really say paving, but reparing and grading. It says that the road will be in optimum conditions.

Can anyone in the "KNOW" speculate as to why!!! This is really to bad as there is not alot of commerce in that area and basicaly nothing wrong with
the current road. Just hoping its not slated for any massive development.

It seems to say they are reworking the grade down to San Cosme... making it an all weather road or less terrifying, perhaps?

Thanks David........The first steep part can be pretty scary if you are in the passangers seat of the vehicle coming uphill and happen to meet a Green
Tortise tour bus on a switchback headed down., to San Cosme.Yikes!!!

WEll, there is a new home in construction down there now, and one completed that looks like the Taj Mahal .Must be someone influential with lots of
dollars to get that road worked on!!!!

I'm very happy for the residents of Agua Verde who will have an improved, safer road...think about all the loved ones lost on this road not to mention
trashed vehicles. We go there on easter week as it is one of the few places where there are not hoards of people...the mexican locals of Loreto do go
there on these days and yes there may well be a couple hundred spread out over many miles of gorgeous beaches...but they mainly camp all
together...never a problem and injects a welcome boost to the local economy these days. Don't worry about encountering lots of people there yet. We
might not go this year as last year was unbearable hot even in April so we might look for a secluded beach further north...but the west coast is
usually very windy on that weekend and seeing it will be a full moon...wind is pretty much a given...oh well...

As I understand it, all of Agua Verde is owned by one family. They recently
rejected an offer of $11 million.  Maybe somebody raised the ante?

I drove the Agua Verde Rd. just a couple days ago. The road has been regraded to San Cosme so far. It's easier on the vehicle but it has not been
widened or paved, thank god.
I spoke to the road crew and they said that the local Loreto government and a developer split the cost ( yes, speculation fever has even hit out of
the way Agua Verde). It should help travel there until the next hurricane hits.

We fondly recall the first time we made the trip down that road not quite sure what was around the next corner and as anxious as youngsters on
Christmas morning to find out what was next. I would have to look at my notes but I seem to recall roughly a 1,500 foot drop to the the sea in only a
few miles.
Great photos ops all around. 
Wish I was there now.
