There have been times that I think the suicide arrow should be on both sides!!!!!! I've seen a few times that I don't think there was any space left on the left side highway blacktop, and wife is "sucking air & saying, he's coming into the car"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and unbelievable we made another pass. Anyone seen any bumper stickers or tee shirts that say, "I've survived Baja's Hwy 1!!!!!!!!!????????????

Reminds me of the time we were following one of the infamous buses that traverse that part of the peninsula. We were trying to pass it but it kept drifting into the oncoming lane. Instead of hassling with the bus we decided to just pull over for a bathroom break. After getting back on the road and driving just a mile or so we came upon the bus again--it had been hit head on by some drunk guys in a sedan(which had blown up into flames with one of them in it). In this case the suicide arrow was on the left side...could have been us!

Yah, Larry, I know--its just a better story the other way!

By the way--love that book by Cormac McCarthy you've quoted, a real gem.
