Mexican neighbor wanting to come to Canada

We would like to help our Mexican caretaker's son come to Canada to visit our family for the month of July. He is 22 yrs old and is a student in La Paz. His goal is to improve his english. He has obviously never done any travel and I am having difficulty getting info on whether he will have a problem with connections in the US.
Canada does not require a Visa for Mexicans travelling as a temporary visitor. There are no direct flights from Los Cabos or La Paz to Victoria or Vancouver.
Does anyone have any experience with this? Would his only option be to travel to the mainland and try and find a direct flight into Canada?

Remember, when in Mexico, yes may be no and no may be
maybe!

No question about the passport, he has that already.
Thanks Lero, we will start looking at possible flights.

YES!!!!! It IS possible with a stopover at LAX!!! A Canadian neighbor flew a young Mexican friend up to Vancouver BC for a month. What they did was the airport or airlines (not sure exactly WHO) assigned an "escort" to him, the escort met his arriving flight La Paz > LAX, assisted him through the arrival process & immediately took him to an International in-transit secure "holding" area. The escort stayed with him until his LAX > Vancouver flight & escorted him to the plane. He was not allowed to leave the International area nor roam at will! He was met in Vancouver by the people who had invited him up. Basically the same procedure for his return trip. I believe that they made these arrangements directly with the airlines. This was about 4 years ago, and I know there was a $40-50 fee for the escort, over & above his airline fare.

It was Edgar's first plane trip, and truly a month of amazing firsts in his life! He still talks about the things he saw & experienced in that amazing month! :bounce::bounce: This is a wonderful thing your friends are trying to do for this young man!!

Wow, I was told it wasn't possible to do that...glad it is...we took Juan to Canada last summer and it was so funny watching his reaction to things..he'd never eaten cherries or rasberries...we took him to a maple syrup farm too and he swam for the first time ever in a lake...one day we caught him inside the dishwasher trying to figure out what it was...he saw everyone shoving dishes in there and wondered how it washed them?? Too funny...and he stood for a long time gazing up at the skyscrapers in Toronto when we went for lunch at the CN Tower...when asked what he was thinking about he said he was trying to figure out how many bags of cement it took to build it:lol: make sure he has a letter stating who he will be with. He'll have a blast EH!
