mexican handpainted talavera tiles and sinks

buenas tardes!

this is our first visit to this board, we are writing to you from mexico’s ceramics capital, dolores hidalgo in the state of guanajuato. it is a very pleasant afternoon here in the central highlands...

i was born in mexico city but raised in Stillwater, Minnesota in the great old usa, i graduated from the u of m Minneapolis campus... as fate would have it i married a local girl and decided to settle down and live here in central Mexico.

together cecilia and i founded mexhapati artesan ceramica, supporting dozens of local craftsmen or artesanos and we are currently making and exporting talavera tiles, sinks, talavera toilets, copper sinks and stove hoods, among many other hand made artesan materials to over 13 countries worldwide. you may well have seen our products previously.

i have been living in this part of mexico for almost 30 years now so have a bit of experience traveling and living in mexico in general… if you ever come to dolores hidalgo please stop by and visit, we'll give you a tour of our artesan factory and fill you in on the best local places to stay, eat, and visit.

if you need help or advice of any sort, please feel free to write me and i'll do anything i can for you.

Your friend

That sink is nice but do you have anything brighter and more colorful?

Fishbuck, if I knew how to insert those little laughing faces, I'd give you a whole row of them.
