Hwy 1 to Campo Renee and Abreojos

Has anyone driven this road in the last month or so? Where does the pavement end? How is the pavement? What is it like after the pavement ends?

If I'm in an F350 with a cabover, how long will it take to get to Campo Renee from Hwy 1?

I drove this road in March. Pavement ended 9 miles from Camp Rene turnoff and they were laying pavement everyday we were there.
The remainder of road was in good shape. Of course that changes daily.
There were some wash board sections but overall pretty good.
Pavement may be all the way to Campo Rene by now.
I don't remember what the milage is from Hwy 1 to Campo Rene but the asphalt section of road was in good condition and you should be able to average 50+ mph.
I do remember that it seemed to take alot less time than last October.

It will be whirlwind, George. Probably arriving around the 17th or so of June. I will ask around in town for the newlyweds.

Hey, is this a shot from the wedding reception????

Hook

1 hour after the turn off. You will only have a few miles of dirt to Campo Rene.

Hook, we look forward to a trip report when you get back. We plan to make it through that very same area in October on our way down to Mulege. Also, in our cabover camper.

Thanks for the info, man. If we're just camping in the Lance, does it really make sense to stay at Renee? I still want to see the lagoon and all but is there a SECRET area for dry camping nearby or at Abreojos? We are completely self-sufficient. Of course a beachfront place to park with no one around is always nice. U2U, if you feel the need.

As Whistler and Capt G said. Anywhere along the coast between Estero de Coyote and Punta Abreojos. Any questions while your down there, look me up - live out at the point about a mile from town.
