BOLA

I Just returned from a fishing trip down to BOLA with my dad,son and a few friends. We fished 6/17-6/18.The yellowtail are wide open from around 7:00am to 9:30am. 10-20lb range. These were the perfect size for my 8 year old to pull on.Krocodile lures were working the best and blue/white second best. We did get one that went 40lbs and also a Humboldt squid around 30lbs.The regular bottom fish were also plentiful bass, big triggers, jawfish and sculpin. Costa del Sol hotel was nice and did a fantastic job cooking our fish.

Woody, the Costa del Sol is a very nice hotel right in town, very friendly staff and Victoria does a good job. The rooms are beautiful and the food good, my son and I go there to eat quite often. It's seems to be popular with bikers (nothing against bikers, they are always friendly) my only concern would be the noise factor when they all take off in the morning.

If you are familar with Bahia, it's past Dos Pino's on the right, it rust colored.

The Las Hamacas Motel is more rustic than Costa del Sol, $45+ per night, and almost no water pressure in the shower! It is popular with bikers as the large courtyard offers a sense of security and the big patio deck infront of the room is a place they work on their bikes

Baja Cactus in El Rosario sure has us spoiled!

thanks paul, will be leaveing soon. casa del sol is a great place but has become a little pricey for food. still go there many times a trip. heard most of the bigger fish are south and out and that is what we will be targeting. we will allso look out towards tiburon for dorado as we will be staying out by partida overnight. thanks again for the report.:bounce::coolup:

The Costa del Sol was $75 a night 2 big beds and big enough to add another person on an air matress if needed. They turn the air off at midnight but they have a ceiling fan that works all night. My suggestion would to bring down another fan with you during the summer months. The electricity was getting closer to BOLA.They said it was to be completed in August. The staff cooked our fish with rice, beans and tortillas for $5 a plate.
We hired Joel and his buddy Julio. Joel's motor was not running right so he had Ricardo take us out.Julio and Ricardo did a good job finding the fish and getting us in the action. It wasn't too hard just chase the birds and throw the iron. They did know the spots for the bottom fish.
Governor Elourdy was down there dedicating the bay as a reserve park. I don't know anymore info on this just heard when we came back from fishing.
Steve good luck to you guys and looking forward to your report when you return.
