Delivery Vizcaino Style
Salvador from the La Commercial in Vizcaino operates at one speed only---overdrive. We bought several items so he agreed to deliver to Bahia
Asuncion---he had hoped we were buying in Abreojos as it is a better road. He counted our over 30,000 pesos faster than any bank machine could. He
was surprised we paid in advance, but we really wanted to lighten our money load---
He was going to deliver the next day, but his big delivery came in---so we just hoped for the following day. In our visualizing practice pushing for
good karma to bring our new bed to us, (getting up off the futon on the floor is getting more difficult these days) we pictured Salvador flying over
the dirt road to Wagner's Ride of the Valkyries, or the William Tell Overture. It worked!
It was evening time, or still afternoon by Asuncion standards, and Salvadore, assistant, small truck and trailer landed. I so wanted pictures of his
arrival and unloading, but it all happened too fast---swoosh, tear off the shrink wrap, the cardboard, and in they flew. I was too busy pointing to
where we wanted items. But I was able to record their departure.
Dirt roads are not good for empty trailers, so John helped them--
He moves so fast that I was surprised he stopped for a minute when I said sonrisa
The sand is soft in front and as we watched the back sink more, we were concerned that he might not get out--but he did. One can also see where all
of the quickly removed packing ended up---we picked it up later
One last tug and they were off in a flash.
Salvadore was pleased to see us several days later back in Vizcaino because what we bought he did not have to deliver---but he did shrink wrap it very
well.
It was a good day

Cool! So Vizcaino has things not found in Asuncion... Do you still need to get items in Guerrero Negro or San Igncaio or does Vizcaino have enough
items?

Vizcaino is like a commercial center for that entire area. They sure don't have everything, and it is hit and miss. Today there are some things,
tomorrow they are gone. For example, we bought the bedroom set pictured below---it is from the mainland, the Guadalajara area, but it was the last of
its kind.
And this hutch was one of a kind for his store
We bought a different stove than we wanted, but the others were gone. It is not like shopping in Ensenada, and it will take time to get what we want
--- so bring your own folding chairs when you come to visit. 
Seriouly, there is a real trade off for living in the least populated part of Baja---it is magnificent, but the services and goods are not easily
available.

JDtrotter.......Congradulations!!!!! Heres to many happy days and years in your new casa. There is a group of old Baja friends and romantics sitting
here with me this am having some coffee and we are all so envious. We all wish you the best. ++C++

Thanks to all of you. Oh, look up rustic pine furniture on google and see what them sell it for in the United States----I much prefer the Mexican
price.
The hit and miss thing is fun---just have to be patient as to when something might come along. Now, if we can only find a couch we like.
