I checked on the Asuncion area http://www.tempbreak.com/index.php?&cwregion=mb# and then looked back a week in their archives. It was amazing to see the change as the warm
waters made a huge jump north this week.
(Juan; looks like the temp 84 degree temp line is about 10-12 miles offshore !!)

Water Temps
I just returned from Los Barriles where I checked on the fishing for a couple of days, specifically the water temps. Beach to 15 miles out was reading
between 75°-77°, A couple of spots northeast of Los Barriles, passed Isla Ceralvo read 80°-82°. Most of the boat captains and deckhands I talked to
had miscellaneous hits by Stripers and the occasional solo bull Dorado, but not much more. My 6 year old caught a couple of "schooly" tunas within 1
mile of shore when he went out with my buddy one morning.
Fish were coming in, but not like the usual June and July days I remember.
Look at the brightside... cold water prohibits tropical storms from becoming hurricanes in most cases.....

I was out around Punta Lobos today and the water temp is still around 78. Dorado are scarce even as far out as 50 or 60 miles.

Thanks Russ for sharing this website. The temperature maps should be very useful. I'm planing to use them next month and am considering changing my
plans about where to fish on the cortez side.
I'm wondering if you can predict the yellowtail fishing using these maps.
