We already know they are rebuilding Mex1 ...I just wish they would have started at San Quintin south and Santa Rosalia north.

They mentioned airports. I wonder if the Sea of Cortez airport they are talking about is.....Santa Rosalia? Bay of LA? Or maybe something on the
mainland?

Go Slim Go!
“Communication and transport infrastructure is vital for the competitiveness and productivity of the national economy,” Tellez said. “It is also ... a
fundamental element to reduce poverty.”
Firms that could benefit from the plans include construction company ICA and infrastructure firms IDEAL, both controlled by Mexican tycoon Carlos
Slim.
Spokesmen for ICA and IDEAL declined to comment.

There have been rumors of a new airport to serve the Loreto area. It would be built on land rumored to have been donated by an ejido, at San Juan,
north of Loreto.
In any case, the way things are going the little palapa airport at Loreto is getting pretty cramped. But they are still adding superfluous
constructions.

I've never flown in to Loreto but with Don's description, I'd say that's the one they are referring to on the Sea of Cortez. With the expected boom
(well, a boom in promotion, at least), it makes sense.

I was told they sold the land that the Loreto airport is on and that it will be moved.

Now, THAT makes a bit of sense. That land is too close to the coast; too valuable.
And if Loreto continues to grow the way they HOPE, it would be surrounded by homes.

puerto peñasco
is the sea of cortez location for airport. the ensenada airport is to be constructed either in ojos negros or a place called meseta del tigre. both
are somewhat inland, to avoid our coastal morning fog.
this info is from el vigía (ensenada daily newspaper).

Infrastructure.
You would think that the huge boom in foreign investment would allow the government to invest in a Sewage Treatment Plant for Tijuana, but that
doesn't seem to be the case.
Raw sewage flowing into the ocean from Tijuana resulted in Imperial Beach being closed for 187 days last year.
Today's news is that an organization called BAJAGUA is lobbying the U.S. Federal Govenment to finance the needed treatment plant with U.S. Taxpayer
Dollars.

Maybe "The Donald" can finance it since his new high rise ghetto is directly across the road from the entrance and occasional outfall (overflow) from
the ch1t plant.

They're installing some poles/towers for power lines maybe 20 miles north of Loreto alongside hwy 1. Maybe to the future airport?
