Construction at RT188 and Tecate

The road work on the US side of Tecate is almost complete. The full width of the travel way is open today. One more day of paving work scheduled for Thursday July 26th will complete the roadway improvements. Onsite work east of the CHP inspection facitity will continue through this year, but that is not in the public right of way. The project by the way is a new CHP Truck inspection facility.

Hey Ken,
Does it look like there will be any public parking areas for those of us who like to walk across?
Thanks

bajadogs,

It should be back to the way it was before the project started, which frankly wasn't very good especially on a weekend.

Went through yesterday. I know they mean well but, Gawd, I'll be glad when they're done. It can get so warm when you have to sit and wait. The Cal Trans crews are starting to dress like Arabs.
