favorite food

what is the first thing you can't wait to taste when crossing the border? for me it's getting into camp and before anything (except getting a couple of waves) i go down the beach to dig some big pismo clams. let them sit in a bucket overnight and by lunch the next day they're purged and fresh and ready for a pico de gallo topping......

ah, the good life...

Woody
That's maybe the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. My mouth is watering.

maybe a little "world record" spot-fin croaker bone soup to take the chill out of the crisp springtime night! complete with clams and shrimp, washed down with a cold cerveza......

Our favorite food in Baja are the Mano de Leon scallops from Guerrero Negro. The picture is from the Malarrimo Restaurant and that particular dish had pismo clams with them, another favorite.

I agree 100% Ken. They melt in your mouth.
I also love callo de hacha and they sometimes have them too. Although I prefer them raw, Mallirimo makes the best empanesado(sp?) I have ever had. More melt in your mouth.
Dont have any photos.

you may be right! this specimen was from the ensenada fish market to be used for bait since the place we were going had no clams on the beach. the fishing was poor so my wife came up with an idea! now we dig our pismos and top them off every time!!!

good eye noticing the red tongue! i thought it was just another species of pismo from the cortez side, perhaps....

Looks like you have all the bases covered with that photo. What was the fish you used?
