Posada Inn-Rancho Maria Teresa-Guadalupe Valley
Basic accommodations at a reasonable rate in a great location. The Posada Inn is located on the Ruta del Vino in the Guadalupe Valley between San
Antonio de Las Minas and Francisco Zarco.
Situated in a park-like setting with lots of trees, grass, picnic areas, and BBQs. There are two swimming pools, a hot tub, basketball net, and a
volleyball court. There is also a “salon” (multi-purpose room) with tables, chairs and a pool table. Great place for a group to meet. There is also
a small store with beverages, snacks, even swimsuits!
The rooms are quite basic. I think they only have double beds in all the rooms. When we walked in, hubby said, “Where are you sleeping?” But it
turns out that a double bed is adequate when not sleeping with 3 dogs and a cat. There is a TV in the room but we weren’t there to watch TV. No
phone and our Verizon phones proudly displayed the NO SERVICE message. Peace and quiet, except for the semi trucks going by all night on the highway
using their jake brakes. The ceiling fan helped cover up some of the road noise and the roosters crowing! If you stay here, ask for a room at the
far end of the Inn away from the road.
Parking is secured at night -- well it's secured all the time but at night the gates are closed and there is a guard on duty.
Weather report: Surprise! We were expecting 100 degree weather. When we arrived around 2:00 p.m. it was 84 degrees with a beautiful cool breeze.
When the sun set it cooled off a little too much for those that brought more than sleeveless shirts! This morning when we arose it was 59 degrees.
Room rate: $600 pesos for 2 persons. Given the location, time of year (Vendimia) and alternatives, that was a great price. The rate is constant
year-round.

No a/c
Baja Vida and I were going to stay there, but it was very hot that afternoon and the rooms did not have a/c.
We ended up camping out at Sordo Mudo and the open air was much more tolerable than cooped up in an enclosed room with just a ceiling fan.

Must have been Bajamigo's angle on the camera -- it was definitely a double!
We went for a Vendimia event at La Villa del Valle where some excellent boutique type wines were sold. When Bajamigo's done playing with the photos
from the event we'll do a post about the event itself.

trying to get a group flyin going with BBPers. one of "us" lives 10 min away from Cetto's private strip and is getting me all i need on it incl
permission from the old man to use it. They may put together some side fun for us.

I understand that there are a lot of boutique wines in G. Valley that don't get much, if any, distribution. I couldn't find any in Baja Sur. I have
also heard that there is a lot of foreign investment and expertise and that the wines are greatly improving.

Wine Spectator mag did a very nice article on the valle showcasing the "boutique" stars - i.e. camou chateau - along with good comments on the mass
producers like Cetto.
search their archived issues at their website.
ummmm..............wonder what might pair well with biscuits and gravey she's cooking now.....???
