I only know one person who has bought a new car here and the only thing that they could get the dealer to do was pay for and handle totally the registration...not the tax. If I remember correctly.

I bought VW, so my information is VW dealer-specific. You pretty much pay the asking price...IF you pay cash, there may be a slight markdown, but very slight...they offered me a better discount if I paid in USD....but the exchange rate they offered was so low that I was farther ahead doing the conversion to pesos myself at a higher exchange rate. Also, I bought at year-end/new model year point in time & interestingly enough, I bought a 2007 because they gave me a better price on the 2007 than on the 2006's left on the lot!! And interestingly enough, Mexico doesn't have all the sales we'd see in the USA with each holiday....no July 4th blowout, no Cinco De Mayo "overstock" sales! No, we aren't in Kansas anymore, Toto!:spingrin:
