Benjamín Arellano Félix gets 22 years

MEXICO CITY – Drug kingpin Benjamín Arellano Félix, whose Tijuana cartel once supplied 40 percent of the cocaine consumed in the United States, has been sentenced to 22 years in Mexico's toughest maximum-security prison, the Mexican federal Attorney General's Office said yesterday.

Monday's sentencing concludes the Mexican government's case against Arellano and opens the possibility of extradition to San Diego, where he was indicted by a federal grand jury in December 2003 on drug trafficking, racketeering and money laundering charges, law enforcement sources said.

he will never get extradited and the consensus around TJ last night(taken at Rudy's Villa Tabacco) was that he will never do 22 years. He will be out in less, unless of course he "escapes":smug:

No, he'll be confined to Isla Mujeres because it is an island. The mujeres will torment him with pleasure and free drugs. He will develop island fever and fall victim to the ravages of terminal excess. There will be no escape!

Probably so. Why would Mexico want to deal with the pressure of his confinement when The US will take it off their hands? In Mexico, this would be one tough dude to control, on either side of the bars.
