Depending on where your house is located, you could check with the home inspectors in San Diego to see if any of them will go to Baja to inspect the house. Maybe you take them to it. Otherwise check with the local realestate agents for your area.

Suggest "interviewing" a few local builders on site. Trade their opinions for opportunity to do some remodeling? IMHO, home inspectors are mostly failed contractors who couldn't make their businesses run.
