well..here's the deal. Left SD sat 11:00 & spent
sat night in BOLA mainly for the comfort of the 2 elderly pax i had, then a quick hour's hop to the lagoon sun morning, back to SD sun afternoon.
Hotel was costa del sol, nice white bread digs, good for the AARP crowd. I won't stay there again. lousy drinks, ditto food i was told (i didn't eat
there) and way too much dinero at $65 a night per room. I should have stayed at Hamacas down the street for 1/2 $$. bottom line is BOLA doesn't do
much for me, never has, and I don't go there much, only went this time as Alfi's under water with the full moon that night. The moon rise over the bay
that early evening was epic though. Too bad you couldn't get a decent margi in that berg. I tried several places and gave up.
whales were good though.

S.I. whales in March
Thanks for the great foto and the ballena report from San Ignacio. I was going to post a query today about the status of whales, this late in the
season, at the Lagoon.
We are thinking seriously about taking a spin there next Spring, we like to leave late enough to catch a bit of warm weather but need to get there
before the whales head out.
Sounds like mid-March is still a safe bet to see plenty.
I spent a week at Mag Bay on a Sierra Club whale trip some years back. It was early January and really chilly.
Would love to have some warm rays to go with the big guys.
Baja Arriba!!
