I second the Cortez. Central, on the beach, pool, next to the Malecon.

I stayed in April at Langosta Roja. The parking lot has 24 hr. security which was some serious peace of mind with having 2 Rubicons parked south of
the border. The price was ~$80/night which was expensive, but the breakfast place across the street "Loncheria EL Minuto" had huevos rancheros for
only $3 which evened things out. Langosta Roja is on the main drag leading towards the Malecon, and is on the north side of the street, and is a 2
story complex.

Have also stayed at the El Cortez Motel and it was ok. It is on the beach, close to town, has a bar, a resturant, did I mention it had a bar and good
service??? Have also stayed at trailer parks by it and at friends houses
on the beach. Have fun in San Felipe and the weather is definately San Felipe time now. Later----------------- bajafun777

Anything cheap and decent in San Felipe. Not on the beach perhaps. $30-$40 a night?

IMO the days of good , clean, etc. motels in San Felipe for $30 or $40 a nite are now long gone! Tourism is much higher here nowdays but so are
prices.

There is the Old Don Jesus, small trailers all in kinda neat looking little park, but I personally have no idea how they are? They used to advertise
$25 a nite( not sure of occupancy?) then the new Don Jesus hotel in the next block south, the last I knew a room there was listed at $55 a nite. I see
no ads for either recently. But they have painted the new one already so prices probably jumped up!
