Shipping from US To Mexico

I have a requirement to ship a 50# package from Las Vegas, NV to Mainland (Puerto Vallarta) Mexico. It is approximately 4' x 2.5' in size with a USA value of approximately $150.00. As it is a pool cover, short of major near intentional abuse, it would be hard to damage.

I would greatly appreciate recommendations and leads as to who best to ship it with (yes, cost is a factor) and what it may cost. If it took 3 or 4 weeks to arrive, this would not be a problem. Thank you for any insights you may have. Tim

Tim

Unless its a 15 or 16 Mil it will only last 4-6 months. No help on the shipping.

I'm with Comi, poolcovers are worthless, so save your money.:( Invest in a good poolsweep and do a lot of skimming.:P:P

Air Cargo

I am shipping stuff to La Paz on Alaska Air Cargo and find rates that are very reasonable.... I priced your package on their web site and got an estimate of $ 65.70 US General Air Freight form Las Vegas to Puerto Valliarta. You (or whomever drops the shipment off) do need to apply for a "known shipper" number... not too difficult.

I wasn't knocking pool covers because I use them all the time, they save water(evaporation)Chlorine, and heat when it starts getting colder, I was just saying you have to get the heaviest material.

Thank you all for the assistance and inputs. I love the sounds of the Air shipment...almost sounds too easy. I will be looking into it first.

We used US global priority in July for a document and I kid you not....it still has not arrived.

Pool cover is high quality and it is a must hear in Puerto Vallarta if one wants to use the pool with warm water year around (assuming, like us, you do not have a heater). Even if it fails after a year, it is worth every dime. I agree they are ugly....but one must trade off.
