Airports and Car Rental

Need information, please

1. There are no commercial type flights into Guerrero Negro, correct??
2. We believe the closest commercial airport to Bahia Asuncion is Loreto, correct?
3. Since Loreto is about 280 miles away, are there car rentals available in Loreto?

Thanks
Diane

1. correct, nothing from the states, though there is a Mexican small plane service that irregularly connects with San Carlos/Guaymas, Sta Rosalia, and Loreto and maybe other points south. Nomads closer to GN will be able to give more info
2. haven't run the numbers, assume that is correct...Ensenada vs Loreto?
3. many many car rentals, including the big names, in Loreto. be sure to book on line, it's much cheaper than walk/fly in

reality\'s never been of much use out here...

Thanks for the car renting tip

Oh, Encenada is about 500 miles north of us, so Loreto is it unless that small plane service works. Hope to hear more about it.

I was thinking of Aereocalafia, but they don't fly to GN. however in my search I found another that flies to GN from Ensenada, Loreto and some other points, all in Mexico. check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Airports_in_Baja_Califo... they have all the airports and you can click on the individual airport and get a list...make that one in GN...of the commercial flights into/out

here's more info...I find this interesting and potentially useful...though I'd probably drive from here. I ended up in the clinic following a MVA between GN and Vizcaino a year ago and they told me there wasn't an airport but...

aeroservicios guerrero Agencia Delfin http://aereoserviciosguerrero.com.mx/eng/Itinerarios.htm

hey, someday I'm gonna get up your way, will look for you then.

Hope you do make it down there and thanks!

Any one ever use that airline?

We drive, but have a nephew who may want to visit and would not want to drive.

Ms Trotter, although I have not flown on these local airlines I have seen them flying in and out of the small airports around Baja. Their airplanes seem to be modern (expensive turboprop) with many passengers coming and going.
