Fires---HELP!

Im working in southern Mexico and have been in touch with my wife and son in Ensenada and my parents in Punta Banda but where exactly are the fires burning in Baja?

The Mexican television have not reported any problems so far but their reporting always in the past have not been concerned with Baja.

Has anyone been affected with a fire so far in Baja?

How about Nomads in the So Cal area?

Thanks Bajabound. I reviewed this link and it concentrates on Punta Banda and Maneandero but I was also interested in any other area of Baja as well. I have alot of friends in and around Valle Guadalupe and have not heard anything in that area as well as Tijuana or Rosirito. I hope all is well.

Have the winds died down?

Here's an image showing where there is smoke, yesterday afternoon.
There is also a new area southeast of Ensenada and northeast of San Quintin.

Last information we had from that area (Valle de Guadalupe) is that there was a fire at San Antonio de las Minas but it was not a threat to homes. The worst was/is south Ensenada.
Here is contact info were they can help you better and they speek english:

We plan on entering the border through Tecate on 10/31 or 11/1. Can anyone tell us if the border is open at Tecate and will the fires south of Ensinada deter our travels to Ensinada? We need a trustworthy motel half way between Ensinada and Mulege. Help. thanks. Ben;;D

Today we understood that Tecate was closed; opened a day or two ago and reclosed...best bet is to check the "border wait times" sites. There is one www.signonsandiego.com

Border Crossing

Cross at Otay, take the Blvd 2000 south to the toll road, then the toll road to Ensenada.

Tecate port of entry to reopen Monday
Posted @ 11:46 PM
The Tecate port of entry will reopen to passenger vehicle and pedestrian traffic at 5 a.m. Monday, Oct. 29, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials.

The port will resume its normal operating hours of 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. All cargo trucks will still be required to enter and exit the U.S. at the Otay Mesa or Calexico commercial ports of entry until the roadways leading to the port are certified safe for large, heavy vehicles.
