This might sound stupid but if I have a prescription, can I go and buy an inhaler for athsma in TJ and walk back with it legally? Do any of you know a good cheap farmacia within walking distance so i could walk in and straight back across? I was thinking of going tomorrow.

If it requires a Mex prescription, you have to get one in Mex. If it doesn't just buy it and take it back.

How much of a problem could he have with a US prescription and an inhaler? I assume he's talking one or two and not a backpack full.

Many times I have bought albuteral asthma inhalers at famacias in La Paz and in Ensenada. No prescription needed. Beings it will be a new famacia to you, might be good to bring in one of your old inhalers - makes it easier to be sure you're getting the exact same thing.

Edit: When bringing home the inhalers, take them out of the carboard box they come in... just put the inhalers themselves in your bag. They are the same as the ones sold in the US. I have never ever been questioned about them.
