Before following grover's advice I would type the URL to your avatar image in your local browser and see if the image displays.

According to a quick look at an archive of the site shows this URL as your avatar:

http://www.turmares.com/NEW/images/orca.jpg

Which is (or is now?) this image:



And the dimensions of the image are (now?) larger than what the system will accept. Each time you save your profile, if the image for the avatar is too large, it'll remove the reference to that image you entered.

Avatar limits are currently 130px width, 150px height.
