Border Patrol

In my extensive travels in Mexico, have spoken with many folks who crossed over to work.A sad commentary on US culture they all say,do not get caught by a Chicano,or Mexican-American border patrol,a white person is more likely to treat you humanely and fairly.I am sure there are chicanos in the patrol that are fair, also, but this is the general consenses of Mexican crossers.

Ok, I guess a better answer by illegal immigrants is just "Do not get caught" and avoid any feelings of not being treated fairly!! If you do not like being handcuffed, booked, jailed, deported do not do illegal acts in any country. Later========bajafun777

Maybe

Maybe it's because the "chicano" Border Patrolmen/women came into this country legally, or were born here as US citizens.

The most vocal groups against ILLEGAL immigration are those immigrants who came to this country legally and obtained their citizenship by following the rules and the law.

We need immigrants,it is sad that presently many of them need to be illegal.Without illegal immigrants, much of the economy of in particular the state of California would collapse. And yes,we badly need another Bracero program but God forbid, then employers would have to pay L and I,unemployment, perhaps, medical, the could not hire and fire on a whim, many employers want the folks to be illegal,Plus a large percentage of legals would hurt job security for the migra.

Tough Guys on the Border

Actually, there is probably validity in the premise that Latino Border agents may be harder to deal with.

It has been shown again and again that Minority and Female personnel in many law-enforcement positions tend to act that way because they feel vulnerable to criticism.

From long experience, I ALWAYS avoid the Female agents IF I have the opportunity.

Having said that, my worst experience crossing the border was courtesy of a "White Male" agent. Of course, that may have been because I responded to his rude questioning with a comment regarding the lack of physical fitness requirements resulting in obese agents. Some people have no sense of humor.

"We need" more space in our jails, too----------so, does it make sense to stop enforcing laws, thus sending nobody to jail, and thus reducing the pressure on the Nations jails?

Your logic escapes me. :?:
