Lift Kits

Ok, first of all, I am not an off-road racer.....but I do have a question for all of you that are.

I have a 1986 Subaru Brat (ok, no laughter) and I would like to obtain a 2" lift kit. I know that this will not increase my ground clearance, however I want to get some body lift, and besides, I think it would look cool!!!

Any of you know who I could contact regarding this or where I could obtain the parts and have the lift done locally>>>>>looking for a web site or a name and e-mail address???

Thanks

The front MacPherson strut may have adjustment bolts on the top to raise it... I had three Suabaru 4WD wagons (the same set up as the BRAT), a 1977.5, 1980, and a 1986... I recall raising the '80 with the built in adjustments offered, but don't remember if the '86 had it... The back end was raised using the lug wrench on a center bolt under the back seat! Great little known feature!

Subaru lost me when they went from 4WD to AWD and now no low range!

Photo of my first Suby, in 1979, just south of Calamajue Canyon.

If the guy is running a 4" lift with 27" tires, why would anyone bother going through all of the trouble to install a 2" lift in the first place? If you are trying to make your rig look "cool" go for the 4" instead of the 2".
