Boat Permits
Some fishermen friends have Eeed me asking that I get them some blank boat permits, seems they have fishing licenses but for some reason they didn't
explain they can't get the right forms to obtain permits for their boats.
Does anyone know where I can go in La Paz to obtain these permits? Thanks for any info you can provide.

I register all my boats for importation in Mex. Most don't and there has never been a check ever that I or anyone can recall.
Try Mac Shroyer Marina La Paz. They should have boat importation forms or use Vagabundos.com in the USA online and they will mail them to you here
and fax a copy as well. MLP

I heard Mexico is temporarily out of fishing licenses and boat permits. That doesn't mean all licensing agents here and in the states are all out of
them but many are. The travel clubs buy in bulk and in the past, they have had them when regular license agents were empty handed. That's not to be
confused with Gnukid's Mexican IMPORTED AND REGISTERED BOATS. The form his post shows is an application from Vagabundos, not Mexico. Some Mexican
Port Captains sell permits, others don't. Good luck.

The form from vagabundos is their form for them to process a mexican boat permit, if you follow the form they can mail the completed boat permit. No
it is not a mexican boat permit form application.

A lawyer told a friend of mine (third-hand info, ugh) that a tourist with a boat out fishing requires fishing licence(s) but no boat permit. This
sounds odd, but is it true? The lawyer insists that only commercial boats require boat licenses. Help me get the story straight. Thanks!

Wrong. You need a personal fishing license (Permiso Individual de Pesca Deportivo-Recreativa), and a boat fishing license (Permiso de Pesca
Deportivo-Recreativa Para Embarcacion). The two licenses look almost identical. I have both, two of the boat licenses.
If the boat is registered out of country, I think you also need a temporary importation permit as well. Don't confuse that with the boat fishing
license.

Your right Don, you do need the temp import permit, there good for three months and come free of charge.
