New Sentri Lanes Crossing at San Ysidro

I have been crossing at San Ysidro Senrti for the last few weeks and it has been backed up alot. From what I hear they have changed the lanes to "Pueblo Amigo". I think that is the area where there is a hotel and a few restaurants close to the border but I cant remember how to get there.

Does anyone know the directions?

I KNOW! I crossed at SY on Friday and they had the usual route taped off and rerouted everyone all over the place until finally I was going through the normal lanes and not the SENTRI! 2 hours 15 minutes total time beginning at 0815.

Just do it!

I went thru Sentri lanes on Friday, went regular way until got to 2nd circle, where you go 3 quarters around and traffic was backed up going toward Sentri lane, could not get in, called lady police officer over and she said they changed the way. So when you get to 2nd circle turn right, go approximately 2 blocks, turn right, this is just before the light, do not go to the light.
Turn right, go to the end of the street, turn right, you are now on the road that takes you to border lines on the right side of the buildings that they sell the trinkets from, make sure you stay in far right lane, then you will see a sign Sentri lineas straight ahead, a little further down you will see sign to turn right, turn right go to stop sign and you will go straight across an entrance in the divided road, turn left and you are in the Sentri lane. Got to 2nd circle at 8:30am, after getting lost, took until 8:55am to get in line, was across in 2 mins, as I am sure everyone was having trouble finding line. I am not sure if this is a detour for the holidays or if it is the new way to get in line, sorry don't know the street names and someone else may know a better way to get on the street going on right side of the trinket buildings. Good luck.

Relative to the Ley supermarket, Pueblo Amigo and the big Hotel, where did you go?

Not sure of those places, went by Costco to first circle, 3/4 way around then to 2nd circle and turned right there to last street before light, went to the end and turned right and stayed in right hand lane until saw Sentri signs and followed them. Hope this helps.

Sounds like the way I use normally. Via Rapida to two blocks past the last PEMEX station, turn right, along the Ley supermarket and then 3/4 thru the glorietta at Pueblo Amigo. Pueblo Amigo and the big hotel along your left hand side.

One of our neighbors, who doesn't have a SENTRI pass and goes to otro lado about twice a year, posted this story on a local Bulletin Board about how she wandered into the SENTRI lane. Not sure if this helps, since we always cross at Otay, but it may shed some light on the changes at SY:

"ive been aksed to give directions to get to this secret place which
is REALLY very easy to find, as i literally got there while blinded
by the (sun)light.

since im not all that familiar with crossing, i got into the very
furthest right hand lane you can get in, way before taking that LEFT
hand turn around the curve, before and just under the underpass.
(where cars are merging into your lane from the right; from TJ? and
very impolitely i might add) This is where i think i made my
mistake. but i knew from driving up before as a passenger, you have
to merge far right at some point here, to get to SY crossing, or
youll end up downtown TJ and very lost.

ok, i stayed in that furthest far right lane, went under the
underpass AND at the underpass, it began to be its very own single
lane, heading uphill and toward the right. at this point, since i was
now out of the suns rays, i did notice on the lane there were what
looked like MEDIC signs painted on the road (white cirlces with red
crosses inside the circle) and i thought i was in some emergency lane
of course. This is when i knew something was diffferent as i was just
about the only vehicle driving this lane. i honestly dont know what i
did wrong.

i continued on this single lane path (as i couldnt go anywhere else)
for about maybe 1/2 mile, when i saw some signs ahead of me, & one
said SENTRI. Now, here the lane will Y off and you can either only go
straight, into some scary unfamiliar place, or to the left. Left is
where SENTRI points. I went left there, as i had heard of this
before, i knew it had something to do with border, figuring it was
the only way to get out of this mess. I knew my christmas goose was
cooked though, and that i needed a special pass, but what else could
i do. i also noticed all the OTHER cars without passes (where i
should have been) were over to my left.

not very far past the green SENTRI sign, you will come right to the
place where you are to present your pass, and the sign will tell you
to point your pass to the electronic scanner thingeee. The car in
front of me had her window down, and pointed her pass about 1 foot
away from the scanner. No human is on duty here at this scanner. You
will then proceed about 20 feet to the guard in her little 6x6
building, who waves you right thru. Or not.

Then your home free! Unless your not a pass holder, at which point
youre screwed; you could quite possibly find yourself in jail $5,000
poorer and your holidays will not be very happy."
