Camping and Kayaking Bahia Concepcion
Hi Folks, Moving out of lurking mode... thanks for all the great info. My hubby and I are heading down for our third winter of paddling down in Baja
(getting out of the Montana cold). We have kayaked Loreto, but only been to Bahia Concepcion/Mulege for a day trip. It sounds like EcoMundo is out of
business. We are looking for somewhere to camp/cheap room, leave our car safely, and launch our kayaks from for a few days in the bay. Any
recommendations? Thanks! Danielle
PS We'll be getting in mostly likely on New Year's Eve day- any typical gathering place for this crudo producing holiday?
Last year we were camping on Isla Coronado in BOLA and were able to hear the rockin dance party in town ;-)

I like Campo Naranjo. It's right on the Bay just North of
Santispac. Nice little casitas and friendly people. Launch right from your own front door.

There's a half dozen camping beaches in close proximity. Pick one with character that matches your character. They're different. Probably most will
have some kind of party going on it is New Year's Eve.
Take hint from Pompano's post above -- calm mornings for kayaking. I've camped/kayaked there this time of year and I take wind exposure into
consideration. Some beaches offer more protection and you can get out and dink around even on a windy day.

Alternative Point of Embarkation:
In Mulege town go to Huerta Don Chano on the North River Road (right on the river) camp there and/or leave your car safely with Manuel and Elisa.

the wind is supposed to decrease everyday but there will be NO kayaking this week...
yesterday was soooo smooth too...
