Waterfalls of Sand- Hurricane Fausto

***Our trusty video camera finally pooped out and the new one has a hard drive storage rather than the older digital video tapes. BigWooo has been spending time lately converting all our old vacation and trip footage from tape to DVD. I dusted off some of his video creations and had forgotten how good some of them are.

It seems a shame to have them sitting on a shelf when the contents might be interesting to other Baja nuts, so I thought I'd share a few. Hope you find them entertaining.***

Waterfalls of Sand

Hurricane Fausto crossed over the Baja peninsula at Todos Santos in Sept 1996. We were on the outskirts of the storm at Punta Pequeña/ San Juanico, and captured the progression of the wind and weather and some interesting local phenomena.

Watch for the dreaded "waterfalls of sand " that occur when the wind blows off the dunes .

Glad you liked it Bob.

What he wasn't able to capture during the storm were the truck-sized balls of sea-foam that would blow up and on to the bluff, then roll off in to the desert like giant tumbleweeds!
