Nellie talks about Loreto Bay
Nellie (Where in the World is Nellie) posted this in her 12/23/07 blog with regard to Loreto Bay, apparently referring to her time as an LB employee.
Sounds like a bunch of amateurs. And Nellie - the project isn't finished and only about half of the homes they sold have been built. And you're
still not willing to talk about ALL that went wrong? Afraid the lack of sales will hurt YOUR BUSINESS?

Disgusting! Rationalizing failure! Notice the company they keep! A web of lies and deception! They think they can keep up this sherade and continue
forever. Try to avoid contact with those noted in her blog, they all work together, with apparently little regard for clients except to take their
money and fail to deliver.
After what has clearly occurred they are not to be trusted ever again. Sad story... to be repeated ad inifinitum.

It's surprising to me that Montell, the Legal Counsel for Loreto Bay is a "partner" in another business with her. Makes you wonder how seriously
they're doing their job at LB -- or doing their job at all ????? Collecting a salary but little else ???

Going way back with that project, I applied for a job as a construction superintendent. We exchanged a lot of calls and they had boiled down their
selection to two or three guys. In the end, they were not willing to pay a man what he was worth to take on the task of trying to bring their "on the
ground" performance up to speed. When they told me that to increase the speed of production of the units they had hired a Mexican architect "with
constructions experience" to ram rod the building, I knew they didn't have a clue. In my judgement and experience, the LAST thing a contractor would
do to increase speed of production would be to add an ARCHITECT. ...been there, survived that foolishness.

ok, just pokin fun..relax, i wouldn't buy there either but i would only take seriously comments based on empirical data garnered by those who are
dealing with it with their pocket books.

vandenburg - yur right about architects tho...i have some great ones but once their design work is done to my specs they have to stay off the site
except by invite! and i love to make changes on the fly!

After all is said and done, how do you get to and from those Loreto Bay Casas? Where would you park your vehicle? Golf? If only a fraction of the
occupants decided to play, it would be standing room only.

Well – the LB owners seem to think that they can hijack the employee bus for themselves, or break the Taxi union agreement: (from the
loretobay.ning.com site) Talk about ME ME ME - didn't they think about transportation before they bought into a development that banned vehicles? Oh
yeah - they were promised a rental car/golf car rental business on the premises. How much hand-holding do they need? And they certainly don't seem
to respect the fact that they live in Mexico among Mexicans. Their attitude is appalling. -- Gladys Kravits
"Sooner or later we must solve the problem of transport to town and back. The problem will increase as more homes are completed and parking space on
the street becomes scarce.
Taxis are out. Those guys who actually think they are working as they lurk in front of the hotel hoping to catch a hapless victim cannot dictate our
lifestyle. We need a fairly priced minibus that runs on a schedule . Most say this cannot be because of the Mexican transport Union. Certainly Loreto
Bay Company has been intimidated by this Union. And I don't blame them. They have a lot to lose if the Union is able to stop or disrupt work on the
project.
But, in fact, there already is a minibus, just the right size, operating this route. The bus delivers hotel workers to work and back daily. It's a big
shiny bus with Loreto Bay painted on the side. It must belong to the Company. LB needs to sell this bus to a local Mexican entrepreneur, preferable
with the name of Davis, and get out of the transportation business. Now would be the ideal time due to the transition.
The new owner would continue as before for a month or so. Then he should add one more round trip, early evening to town and return later. Never go
directly to the Inn, which would get LB in trouble, and never accept actual tourists. We are not tourists. We are residents, many of us with FM3s. I
do not believe the Union could muster a serious strike against a Mexican businessman filling an inevitable need.
The taxi drivers would eventually accept the inevitable and more routes could open up. This is the future.
I would appreciate any comments as I plan to discuss this with LB's new management who should view this as a possible answer to a problem that must be
solved."

I think Cecilia, from the El Porton store in Nopolo, could answer some of those questions.
Tried the transportation bit when the Eden/Whale's Inn were still in business, with dire results. And this lady is Mexican and fairly influential in
this town.
And don't forget the taxi situation in Cabo. Takes an arm and a leg to get around the block.
