I'm glad to see the issue hasn't died. We Americans have a very short memory and need to be reminded that this isn't ancient history but, just yesterday and it could happen again today. Why couldn't it? What's changed? The authorities havn't gone after anybody. They havn't caught any bad guys. They're just waiting around for another brutal attack so they'll have something else to do nothing about.

Dennis...you know I am with you on this. I am guilty of backing off...I just feel so much pressure from trying to keep people reminded that no one cares...I believe most feel that the local and federal have so much on their plate and cannot deal with it all. I do not believe that is true...they just put gringos on a "I do not care" list, because they are the ones committing the crimes. So far only two cops, most likely sacrificial lambs, have been jailed...maybe. These cops are laying low just waiting for this to blow over, but they still could set up a juicy sting to bring them out...IF they wanted to.

I ALSO BELIEVE THAT WE CANNOT LET THIS GO!

The individual who spoke on behalf of the embassy in TJ was reading a scripted response. The embassy knows what is going on down here. We complain and nothing gets done. The embassy is there only for lip service

The only thing I have seen different as far as security is concerned is the military presence at the Ensenada toll and a few trucks in TJ with officers with automatic weapons! Thats it...... Even the Federal de Caminos are hiding. I never see them on the toll road anymore.

Face it my friends.....The cartels have taken over and there is nothing we can do about it.There will always be corrupt cops and there will be robberies on the toll road. Oh, and there will always be a police chief position open somewhere in Baja every two weeks.

There are also a lot of Americans rotting in jails throughout the world at the behest of US embassies.
