Not much hope for change...

I get the Sunday San Deigo paper. They have a "This week in Mexico"section and these two stories were on the same page...

Police Killed: The Bodies of two Tijuana police officers who were kidnapped last Sunday were found Thursday in an unpopulated area of Rosarito Beach... (rest of this story posted elsewhere on this site)

and,

Kidnapping Case: Three Federal agents in Tijauna were arrrested on charges of kidnapping a businessman, Tijuana newspapers reported yesterday. (That's the total story)

So who is there to trust? And how about that in-depth coverage on the part of the San Diego Union Tribune?

I really like the idea of posting a "You are entering Mexico at your own risk" sign at the border becuase you are truly on your own once here.

With Baja Norte's population growing at 5% a year, I don't think the crime will go down anytime soon.

I don't think Baja norte is growing by 5% this year, unless you count all the illegal central americans lining up at the border fence that can't find or afford a way across to the USA any more.
