Pet Cremations?
Does anyone know of a pet cremation service in TJ/Rosarito/Ensenada? I heard there is a reputable AMerican operating a service in Ensenada, but
ddon't have contact info. Thanks in advance- woooosh

Sadly, we've needed Viktor's services for some of our family pets.
When our young Great Dane died unexpectedly, he picked her up from the vet for us. He has always been reliable and sympathetic, in these situations,
in a non-phony way.
He has a Mexican corporation and his servoces are licensed by the city. His equipment is from the U.S.
A side note: He raises and shows Fila Brasileiros (Brazilian Mastiffs, a Mastiff/Bloodhound cross). Needless to say, they are BIG dogs.

Thanks for the posts. Sorry about the delayed thanks. Viktor's services were perfect. The vet put "Oso" (our 125 pound ten year old blind lab) to
sleep at our home (after one last car ride and a carry-down to the beach for him to enjoy the fresh air). His advanced cancer had caused hiim to stop
eating and walking and he was beginning to cry and suffer- so it was his time. It's always sad to lose a friend, but he had a wonderful life and we
will always miss the big guy.
Viktor met us at the vet after we had bathed him one last time and yes, his dogs are huge! A week later the cremains arrived back at the Rosarito bus
terminal in a very pretty urn. Our other lab knocked the urn off the memorial table though and of course the cremains scattered all over the floor.
Two screws from Oso's knee surgery (he blew his knee out as a 2 year old) rolled out of the cremains- and we were actually comforted by that- knowing
for sure that Oso was back home.
Thanks again for the referral. I hope I am treated as well in my passing at Viktor treated my Oso.

Sometimes the right decision is the hardest one. I'll be thinking about your ordeal for some time to come as I look at my dog and wonder how I would
act in the same circumstance.
I'll toss back a cold one for Oso...and you.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we
remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body
quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy
kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from
your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

These losses always bring tears to my eyes---but how you handled this always difficult decision was great.
We still have our Lucy's ashes and after we made that most difficult decision, besides the wonderful Rainbow Bridge, I found this poem---I know I have
posted it before.
If it should be that I grow weak
And pain should keep me from my sleep,
Then you must do what must be done,
For this last battle cannot be won.
You will be sad, I understand.
Don’t let your grief then stay your hand.
For this day, more than all the rest,
Your love for me must stand the test.
We’ve had so many happy years.
What is to come can hold no fears.
You’d not want me to suffer so;
The time has come — please let me go.
Take me where my need they’ll tend,
And please stay with me till the end.
Hold me firm and speak to me,
Until my eyes no longer see.
I know in time that you will see
The kindness that you did for me.
Although my tail its last has waved,
From pain and suffering I’ve been saved.

Thanks Diane. That is exactly what we felt and went through. We held Oso until his last breath, whispered in his ear that he was a good dog and to
wait for us on teh other side". We felt his last breath and tucked his tongue back in that huge (four tennis ball) mouth of his for the last time.
Even the vet cried. Like I said, I hope my end will be that good. You'd never get a vet to come to your home to do this in the USA. For a brave
blind dog to be able to die peacefully at home without traumatizing him and us was a wonderful thing.

Now we are both crying---not just out of sadness, but because of your incredible love for such a wonderful creature----dog, is simply god spelled
backwards.
