Dual sport motorcycle insurance.

The clock is ticking down for the launch of the Guerroros Nuevos adventure trip. We will trailer two DR 650's and a KTM 640 to San Nicolas, then make a bunch of loops in the area between Mulege' and Loreto and the Pacific coast.

I can insure my bike with Lewis and Lewis because I will have my policy on my truck. The other guys would have to find Mexican motorcycle insurance. Although I think it is highly unlikely that an issue with another vehicle would arise, it could get really time-consuming and irritating if it did happen with no insurance.

What are your ideas; both about no insurance, and for a possible source for 21 days coverage?

Dual sport= Street legal

Vag,

I get short term policies for my street bike from Discover Baja. I don't know if offroad coverage is included as it wasn't a concern for me.

When are you leaving?

Hi Ken...

We'll roll out of Mt. Shasta on March 7th. at daybreak. Cross at Tecate the next day. We have to be back here on the 28th. The companies I've looked into don't cover anything in the dirt, which is OK, and run about $70. for 18 days. Liability only.

Since they are street legal you should be able to get full coverage for physical damage and theft, along with the liability....if the other riders are interested in that coverage.
