1800's map - oversized photo!
I know this photo will stretch most
viewers screens, but I think many
will find this of interest and I
didn't want to reduce it.
This jpg was sent to me by a
friend and I don't know where he
got it from.

yet, he sells reprints of many maps in the david rumsey collection, I just can't find the path to this one.....

Publication Note: The five maps which accompany Pike's report are of great importance, especially the two maps of Louisiana which Wheat calls "maps of

publish his map until 1811. All maps uncolored and bound into the back of the book. Full leather covers with "Pike's Expeditions" imprinted on the

Too cool! Check out the confluence of the Colorado and Gila rivers, site of present day Yuma, and notice how wide the rest of the Colorado was
between there and the top of the gulf before we sucked it dry. Most of that former riverbed is now farmland.
All my childhood I wanted to be older. Now I\'m older and this chitn sucks.
