What is this?
Anyone know what this place is in this shot from google earth? It's about 40 kilometres south south east of Santa Rosalia, (27.034002,-112.0476) near
the road going out to Punta Chivato. Each building? is over 100,000 sq. ft. and there are 38 of them. Zooming in seems to show plastic rooftops in
various stages of disrepair. Are these abandoned greenhouses? Did anyone visit/know of this place when it was new?

Yep, it's a greenhouse operation that never got the waterpipe that was supposedly going to service Pta. Civato and points south or that's what I've
heard anyway. It's friggin' huge! What a waste.
I'm sure Russ or Pompano could tell you more.

And while on the subject of unknown agricultural? operations, how about this one 30 km northwest of Todos Santos (23.662067,-110.42847). Whatever it
is, its another huge operation, over 1.5 sq. km. Zooming in shows what appears to be shade cloth on top - here in BC, Canada I'd say that meant
ginseng. Any nomad ever visit this place?

Thanks, Shark - amazing that anyone would build such a huge operation without water in place - must have been taxpayer funded :-(

There are several agricultural camps north and west of Todos Santos.
This could be one of many operations in ejidos around the La Paz County. I have visited two such camps and adjusted field workers and other indentured
servants from associated packaging plants nerby. Most of the produce is exported up north. Workers live in tiny corrugated metal barracks with their
families. Each time I go a line forms for hours. Several semi-size truckloads of fruits and vegetables are processed and loaded every day. I only wish
that more of the profits would trickle down to the people that work these fields and factories...
