Condors near our ranch!

Hi all,

My Wife and I took this pic from our car on the road back to our ranch during a day trip up to the observatory. It was the 1st sighting we've had of real live condors, wow what magnificent flyers! Since living up here for the last 2 months we've seen loads of predatory birds, golden eagles, and a resident great horned owl in our oak forest!

Hey there Ferna!

Hope you and your family can come up to stay for a while, I have both of my telescopes up here now, so the best time would be during a new moon or last quarter. The milky way here is spectacular!

saludos

Mike

David: hola! Well we're not quite yet at Concepcion, the wonderful folks at Meling are letting us stay in our travel trailer until we get our 6 km road in good enough shape to pull it in. The house foundation is in and work on putting up the adobe walls starts soon. We have put off doing power until later, so the microhydro is still in the final tweaking of the design phase.
If all goes well we should be living up here in a couple weeks, come out and spend a few days!

BajaHawk: this pic was taken at about the 75km point on the observatory road up to San Pedro Martir park, but we can see them flying along the cliffs from our place at Concepcion usually once a week!
