Dentist recommendations sought - Sta. Rosalia to La Paz

First...Happy Easter to all.

Second...I am looking for some help on where to locate another dentist in my general area.

The one I went to years ago has long since moved to the border, but that's a long drive. This is urgent and I will need to get an appointment asap. Can anybody personally recommend a dentist, possilbly with contact info?..say between Sta. Rosalia and La Paz. It may involve an extraction and/or an implant.

Thanks, Pompano.

I do what the voices in my tackle box tell me.

Roger, Last year two of my friends went to one in Loreto. Can't remember who but both father and son prectice in same office. They were both happy with service. Hands of an angel

One was a root canal and the other a cap

No personal experience, but...

Dr. Barrera in Santa Rosalia 615-152-2300 located on Calle 1 Derecha. This person was recommended by a friend.

There is a dentist in Mulege on Thursdays, I believe, at the pharmacy across from the police station.

Rotary Clinic may still have dental clinic.

Dr. Barrera has been getting more and more people from Pt. Chivato. So far no unhappy campers. I'll ask around and talk with the people that have seen him. More later.....

Muchas gracias, nomads. I have compiled a list of the dentists and will contact them all. I will report back on the results of the dental visit.

Meanwhile, I have been to Mulege and back this morning. Looking for an over-the-counter pain killer and found a great one supplied by Ruben, our friendly town square farmacia owner. For anyone's future use or just to have it on hand in your medicine cabinet, it is : 'Roy Dantina Solucion' and among other ingredients, it contains that time-honored toothache cure: oil of cloves.

It costs only 20 pesos and relieved my discomfort temporarily. Apply to affected area with a cotton swab stick.

Again, thanks for the tips.
Viva Nomads.

edit: Just now saw your post Bob, and I will let you know where I get the work done..and the results.

Pompano. I had two root canals in LaPaz by a "lady" dentist. She was assisted by a "root canal" specialist who also was female. Required replacing two gold crowns after the root canals. Total price was unbelievably cheap.
Her name is Dra. Martha Lorenia Estrada. Speaks English. Tel. 01-612-125.53.04 She has many clients who drive down from Loreto to use her services. I'd go back again. Implants are very specialized, so I'd really get background info before "just using" a 'dentist'. Good luck, and hope your back on your feet quickly.

He studied in Guadalahara and speaks English very well.

Pompano,

There are two good dentists in Loreto these days.

Two of my friends have gone to Dr Jaime Laga for complicated procedures, one a root canal and cap. Both were very happy and said it was painless, and I think they said he speaks English.

His cell phone number is 044-613-109-0477.
