Tree Trimmer in Loreto?
I have about a dozen Ficus trees on my lot in Loreto that need some attention. I love the trees, shade, and songbirds that share this little
hideout... but I need to do a little maintenance / trimming.
They have grown quite tall.... as they do if not trimmed. (They were on my lot and already tall ~ not maintained ~ when I bought a few years back, and
you likely know that can become a problem for these trees when a big fall / winter wind blows in.)
I'd like to find someone who has a boom truck to go up and trim these back considerably. I've never seen a boom truck in Loreto... although I
imagine that FEC must have one for electrical poles, etc.
I've had my local friend Federico do some nice work for me, but he can't get the "way up" stuff.
Anyone have any tips, suggestions, or names to recommend?
Thx.

Ask Barrett at Coacos Cabanas
Do not use the Murillo brother with the square head!!! He chopped down a palm, against my wishes, and it fell on Mike and Cyd's wall..
good luck

Thanks, George.
I still have that palm on the lot!
It is still there... propped up to keep it off the dirt. We occasionally sit on it under those same ficus trees and have a picnic !
Hope you and Deb are well and happy.
Best,
David.

We've had our big Indian Laurel-similar to the local ficus- pruned twice. The first time the tree had not been pruned in years, if ever. They did not
use a truck, and essentially cut the large, thick branches close to the trunk eliminating all the leaf bearing branches. But the tree recovered nicely, and very rapidly. I don't remember who did it, maybe
Paula does.
We had it shaped this spring. We had Jorge Magdalena send some guys over. Did a good job getting it shaped, including the top, without a truck.
Jorge's the guy with the nursery on Ayuntamiento near Juarez.

Thanks, Don!
Appreciate the tip.
I sort of assumed a boom truck was not likely... I just wouldn't want anyone to be hurt dropping some large branches from up in the tree. I would
need someone with a truck to haul off the debris too....
I hope to get down in June for a spell.... not the best time of year for pruning... but . . .

The gentleman who trimmed the laurel de India was a friend of Juan's, the man who often bags groceries at Juarez market. Juan trims hedges and such
and has friends who do taller trees. We arrranged for a neighbor to haul the branches away.
Julio, who works for Jorge at Vivero Magdalena recently trimmed our guamuchil with Vicente asisting. It's a scrappy old tree that had grown much too
large and top heavy. There he was, 30,no 40, no 50!!!!!! feet up, machete in hand, smile on face, enjoying the view. I was a bit of a nervous wreck
on the ground It was two days work, and they hauled off allof the debris.
