NOMADS4NINOS Golf Tournament & Fiesta: See who was there!

The First Annual NOMADS4NINOS Golf Tournament and Fiesta was a roaring success. It was a perfect day for golf and fun, and the turnout was beyond our expectations. After we "review the bidding," some of the many others involved in this wonderful cause will share more details.

In the meantime, here are some pictures of some of the Nomads in attendance. Since I had to act as official photographer (until the real one arrived) while cooking up 14 dozen cheeseburgers, I didn't get every Nomad who was there, like Bajablond and Sylens & Spouse.

The internationally famous "Balloon Lady" (Mrs. Big Mike) weaved her magic

I know who George is, I forgot his Nomad handle (which Kathleen reminded me is "GC" -- too complicated.

Yeah....It dawned on me when I went down for a paper. Came back to delete it but, too late. I didn't know it was GC. I wonder what that stands for?:lol:

I want to thank everyone involved in this first Nomads 4 Ninos event.

All of the people who made this happen worked very hard and gave not only from their own pockets but invested a lot of time and energy. There are too many of you to name but we all pulled it off as a really great affair and in the process made a lot of money for Agua Viva who I know need it to continue their efforts to make the community that much better.

Here are the results of the Golf Tourney:

First Place:

J.J. Williams
David Lynch
Keith Thomas
Nancy Crow

This team came in with a 4 under par score!

Longest Drive:

Hole #9--Jim Burns--Cafe Bohemia (He hit it 295 yards into the wind. Excellent shot partner. You can visit the trophy at this business.I'm sure he will have it on display.)

Hole #17--Tom Borba (Tom smacked it 290 yards to win the trophy.) Tom was at the tourney with his brother Pete and their beautiful wives . Tom has a home in Rosarito. Im sure we will see the Borba boys there again next year....

Closest to the pin:

Hole #5--Mike Wilson (2'1" from the cup. This shot held up all day. It would have been tough to get closer than that.........Nice shot Mike!)

Hole #15--Dave Ortiz--(3'3" away from a hole in one... Very nice.)

Next year will be another fine tournament and fiesta so get ready for this one!

Thanks again for everyone that participated....My idea of just having a few guys get together turned out to be better than I ever expected...............

Lizard Lips handled loads of last minute stuff and golf details like the pro that he is. Hope Nomads visiting Ensenada get to meet Dan, as he is a class act.

Our accounting staff is working through receipts and expense documentation this week. Early #s include more than $5,000 revenue, 39 golfers, 150+ attending Fiesta and a "pegged" fun meter.

Some Nomads sacrificed lots of time and personal expense to get this event running. Any business would be fortunate to have the leadership executed by N4N staff. thankyousoverymuch
