Am I seeing roads and vehicles on the Island? I didn't realize there were roads out there? How many vehicles or equipment are out there? And for what purpose?

Haven't had a bad trip yet....

BW,

No, the roads are in the Bahia Balandra images; Balandra is across the straight from Isla Espiritu Santo, on the peninsula that hooks back around to the north of La Paz.

No roads or vehicles are allowed on the island. Go here for some background on Espiritu Santo:

To All,

Glad you liked the photos; I'll put up another Baja gallery or two on Fotki this weekend.

The Balandra and Espiritu Santo stuff was never put up on my sfordphoto.com web site, so I thought I'd share them here.

Over about 2 weeks I shot many images, most of which have never been rendered up. Flew every other day over 12 days, but the atmospherics got worse and worse every day until finally I had to call a halt to photographing. The air was never clear on any of the days I flew and really had a negative impact on the images.

Dennis: You were right...

Baitcast: Dang! Spanked on my first post....better late than never?.... :) Thanks for the compliments; Balandra has to be my favorite place in all of Baja, maybe anywhere!! I did a model shoot in the middle of Balandra in Dec. 2006. The girls had never been there before; they were in heaven. Regarding the Tecate girls in Ensenada: DOH!

Capt. Mike: Where've I been? Last year living for the most part in Ensenada. Go to my sfordglamour.com web site to see what I was up to. I took the year off from doing any racing photography or landscape stuff and went back to my "roots", fashion and glamour. Did a nice shoot out at Miramar Marine Corp Air Station on the day before the air show opened, a media only thing. U2U me or emaiol me your email address and I'll send you the composite I did.

Iflyfish: Thanks for the feedback and compliments; glad you enjoyed!

Natalie Anne: Thank you! Isla Espiritu Santo has to be the most beautiful island in the Mar de Cortez. One day in between flying I took a boat trip out to Los Islotes. The island just isn't the same from water level, although if you were out there at sunrise or sun set it must be very interesting. Unfortunately I was out there at mid-day and the light pretty much sucked. Also, photographing from a small boat is a pain for doing landscape photography.

Tripledigitken: Thank you Sir! I used to post to several other web sites about three years ago but quit doing it. Do I know you from the Score Baja races? I did a lot of off road racing photography for a few years. Posted some of that to RaceDezert.com, DirtNewz.com and Baja.net, but it's been a while.

Bob and Susan: Thank you much. If there is any interest I'll post a report of my 12 days of flying over the island and bay compiled from emails I was sending every day from La Paz back to my pals in the US and Baja. ?

cbuzzetti: I'll take a look in the archive; I may have a few, but from quite a high altitude.

SF
