need info on if there is any airstrip
on outskirts of Santa Rosalillita where they are working on the escalera nautica still i hear.
the 17th ed. of Senterfitts guide has 2 x RWs shown but i don't trust that info today, too old.
Hanselmann's book is not here in my office but from memory he never showed one.
any bodies here driven by there recently?

Hanselman's book shows 10/28 ditched. Rwy 3/21 he says is usable for the first 1500 ft. of 3. The last 3580 ft. are unusable. He also says as of the
books writing(it is several years old now) he expects it to be closed soon. So who knows the status today.

there was a runway beside the road just before the descent into town when I was there last, but it had rows of rocks across it. I was told that it had
been "decommissioned", as well as many other remote strips, by the federal gov't in response to smuggling... that was years ago (2002) so I'd be
interested in learning what the status of it is now.

yeah, Galen's is 1997 so it is long out of date.
i ahve been to all strips DK shows above except punta prieta - that one needs to be checked for authenticity / currency.
sounds like they will have to land elsewhere and get a ground rig set up.

Punta Prieta runway is the closest to Santa Rosalillita... That 4,800' long paved runway was built when the highway was, in 1973... See it on the
Google Satellite images... parallel the east side of Mex. 1, in the town of Punta Prieta, a few miles south of the Bahia de loa Angeles highway
junction.

Ya I always see that old runway and think about it as an alternate. Is it usable?
